When Ralph Hendricks arrived in Marble Falls as the new Fire Chief two years ago, the fire department administrative office walls were stark white concrete blocks.  When Ralph met muralist, Lori Sears, he had a vision. Lori helped transform his vision from paper to a beautiful piece of artwork that greets visitors at the Marble Falls Fire Department.  The painting reflects the firefighter’s ideals of tradition, professionalism and integrity, which Ralph found in a Currier & Ives print.

It was a team effort from the beginning in selecting the image, customizing the drawing for the Marble Falls station, painting the background color on the wall and cutting wood for the Dalmatian dog   Helpful suggestions and encouragement as the actual painting of the mural progressed helped it become what it is today.  The mural was completed over the course of about 6 weeks and 100 man hours.

Ralph has moved on to take the position of Assistant City Manager at City Hall.  New Fire Chief, Larry Wright, will be now be working in his new office near the mural.  The Dalmatian, also painted by Lori, greets visitors at the front door
